Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using the LATITUDE 235 IT API and associated services ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, developers and organisations that access the Service.
2. Description of service
LATITUDE 235 IT (PTY) LTD ("Company", "we", "us") provides a REST API that enables developers to validate African phone numbers, look up African bank and SWIFT codes, and access related financial data across 54 African countries. The Service is provided on a subscription basis with monthly call limits based on your chosen plan.
3. Account registration
To access the Service you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your API key and account credentials. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account. You may not share your API key with third parties or use it in publicly accessible client-side code.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations in South Africa or any other jurisdiction
- Harass, abuse or harm any person or entity
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Service
- Use automated tools to make calls beyond your plan limit or attempt to circumvent rate limiting
- Resell or redistribute access to the API without our written consent
- Use the Service for any unlawful financial activity or fraud
5. API usage and limits
Each plan includes a monthly call limit. Calls are counted from the first day of each calendar month and reset monthly. If you exceed your limit your API key will return a 429 status code until the next billing period. Additional calls may be purchased or your plan may be upgraded at any time.
6. Payment and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly in South African Rands (ZAR) via PayFast. Payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable South African consumer protection law. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice. You may cancel your subscription at any time and will retain access until the end of your current billing period.
7. Data accuracy
While we strive to maintain accurate and up-to-date data, we make no warranty that the phone number, bank, carrier or SWIFT code information is always accurate, complete or current. The Service is provided for informational purposes and you should independently verify critical financial data before acting on it.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, LATITUDE 235 IT (PTY) LTD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data or business opportunities.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon termination your API key will be deactivated immediately.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
